At Whiting Coffee Co, we believe that everyone deserves to drink great coffee tailored to their tastes. We roast our coffee fresh multiple times a week, and sell only the highest quality outputs at a competitive price without cutting any corners.

Whiting Coffee Company was founded in 1986 by Norman and Ann Whiting, and has been an Albuquerque treasure ever since. Norm and Ann not only founded the business but also operated it themselves for 35 years, with the help from their son Jon who is still a valued member of our team.

Each of our roasters have upwards of 20 years of experience in the craft, and are dedicated to outputting only the best coffee possible. Our beans are roasted to perfection every single time because of the care and expertise that all of the members of our team show in each step of the process.

The Future

Long time members of the Albuquerque business community, Michael and Brandi Phlieger purchased Whitings on April 1, 2021. They have owned and operated Downtown Java Joe’s since July of 1999 which they began at the ages of 22 years old. Michael has been roasting coffee for over 20 years at Java Joe’s. They also own Being Present Body Care, a line of natural, healing body care products and candles that Brandi makes by hand.

Whiting Coffee Company is the next step in a natural progression for these two with their love for small business and bringing coffee to the people. The Phliegers have always believed in community and quality in all things they do, and are looking forward to the many years ahead.
